Travelling by Car
- Coming from south or west leave the motorway A 17 (Prague - Dresden) at the exit Pirna. Travel on to the B 172a in the direction of Pirna, then on the S 177 in the direction of Radeberg and then to Dresden-Pillnitz. It takes about 15 minutes, 12 km from the motorway.
- Coming from the north from Berlin or east leave the motorway A 4 (Dresden - Görlitz) at the exit Hellerau. Travel through suburbs of Dresden, Albertstadt and Radeberger Vorstadt, and then along the northern banks of the river Elbe to Dresden-Pillnitz. It is about 15 km from the motorway.
The Institute is situated on the premises of the summer place of the Saxonian kings.
Travelling by Train
- Arriving at Dresden Main Station, take tram No. 10 towards Striesen up to bus stop Bergmannsstraße. Change to bus 63 towards Graupa/Bonnewitz up to Pillnitzer Platz.
- If you arrive at Station Dresden Neustadt, take tram No. 6 towards Niedersedlitz up to Schillerplatz. Change to bus 63 towards Graupa/Bonnewitz up to Pillnitzer Platz.
Travelling by Plane
At Dresden airport take the S-Bahn (fast tram), descend at Dresden Neustadt Station. Then take tram No. 6 towards Niedersedlitz up to Schillerplatz. Change to bus 63 towards Graupa/Bonnewitz up to Pillnitzer Platz.
Travelling by Boat
It is the most wonderful trip from Dresden city centre to Dresden Pillnitz. The boat stops right next to the palace. Then you walk straight up the street for about 500 m. The Institute is on the left.
