JKI scientists are imparting their professional know-how and knowledge to a greater public at Germany’s biggest garden festival. The Federal Horticultural Show (abbr. BUGA) is a biennial event taking place in different cities, this year in the town of Koblenz (Middle Rhine Valley). JKI scientists are speakers in the lecture events, addressing a non-professional public in 30 lectures on various garden themes.

From 17-19 June, the BUGA will host the leisure-gardening congress “Future – Garden” - with JKI researchers among the conference speakers. On the congress opening day (17 June at 15:45), JKI President Dr. Georg F. Backhaus will speak on “Strategies for the future of plant protection in leisure gardening”. The broader public is invited to a Garden Day on 19 June, where you can meet JKI experts at their stand informing on beneficial organisms and invasive species.

The “Future – Garden” congress is jointly organized by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Consumer Protection and the German horticultural society (Deutsche Gartenbau-Gesellschaft 1822 e.V.).
